Stopped by the office of San Diego’s 4th district Council campaigner Monica Montgomery.
First thing I noticed a small figure on the computer completely oblivious of the outside world watching.
I as a courtesy knocked on the door to get her attention where she waved me in and I proceeded to inform her the purpose of my visit.
You see I was interested in learning face-to-face who Monica Montgomery is.
She gave me a quick background Spellman in Atlanta very prestigious African American all girls college that in its name is the definition of Excellence.
Many many great women of color have graduated posthumously from Spelman College while the males attend Morehouse.
Further making a great impression Miss Montgomery did not hit me with political jargon she spoke to me as I was not even a journalist.
She showed me on the map the different district lines that separate San Diego enlightening me to the borders that need representation.
I am unbiased to any candidate and I believe there is good in all people.
With that being said I appreciate honesty.
She didn’t get deep into Political talk she just told me a little bit about herself that is very rare and transparent with even someone who doesn’t run for elected office.
Fast forward a day the town hall talk at Lincoln High School auditorium.
It was packed the local schools support dialogue and the local ASB along with the candidate Monica Montgomery and former candidate for San Diego district attorney Genevieve Jones Wright.
